Job DescriptionThe Process Specialist (Water Systems) is responsible for managing the operations, reliability, and quality of the water systems processes—from the boreholes to the fillers—and the associated areas of this function. The technician is responsible for carrying out CIPs as per the set plans, conducting repair and maintenance of the systems, managing the boreholes, safe handling and management of process chemicals, and the department’s quality program, maintaining accurate records, and actively leading continuous improvement initiatives within the department. The technician works closely with the Quality Department to ensure all water quality parameters are met.
- Water System Operations: Operate, manage, and troubleshoot water system equipment from the borehole to the fillers. Take readings of key operating parameters such as flow rates, water pressure, temperature, EC, TDS, and other critical parameters as identified
- Clean-In-Place and Clean-Out-of-Place Operations: Perform routine sanitation and Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures as per schedule. Follow sanitary practices and ensure hygiene compliance during operations. Assist the Hygiene team in carrying out external cleanings of the fillers, filter blocks, boreholes, and other identified clean zones. for the safe handling and management of process chemicals. Optimize CIP/COP processes to reduce downtime, chemical consumption, and water/energy usage. Safely receive, store, label, and handle process chemicals (e.g., caustic soda, acids, sanitizers, anti-scalants).
- Manage Water Quality: Assist the lab with sampling of water and other key environmental samples. Help analyze data and conduct troubleshooting when out-of-spec results are identified
- Meter Reading and Water Mass Balance: Conduct meter readings for compliance with FIJI Government regulations and for internal water mass balance calculations. Complete shift-by-shift water mass balances and provide monthly water reading data to Finance for water resource tax (WRT) payment
- Maintenance Planning and Execution: Plan and manage all maintenance activities for water systems in the CMMS. Perform maintenance according to OEM guidelines
- Inventory Management: Monitor and Manage inventory of water systems consumables, process chemicals and critical spares to maintain required service levels. Reorder as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain all required documentation for water systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Compliance: Support organizational quality compliance and environmental initiatives across the site
- Successful completion of Year 12 examination
- Certificate or Diploma in a technical field such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Water Technology
- Basic understanding of scientific principles related to water quality and sanitation.
- 1–2 years of experience in water treatment, sanitation, or a related operational role in a manufacturing environment
