The job objective of
the Process Manager is to study and implement systems, tools, and procedures to
optimize the production process and champion continuous performance
optimization of different production shop.

What you'll be doing
- Monitor the process performance of the entire
plant on a day-to-day basis and define corrective actions together with
production, quality and maintenance.
- Define process optimization actions together
with quality, production and maintenance; monitor the actions and the results.
- Ensures recommended optimization actions are
implemented by the operators; Carry out a review of the implemented actions to
ensure the expected improvements are realized.
- Champion the development of process knowledge,
know-how and capabilities in the plant organization.
- Leads the development of operators’ process
knowledge and development; A key member of the operators’ coaching team.
- Organize on a daily basis process inspections
and review of performance.
- Lead equipment performance audit (Kiln and mill
audit), develop and implement actions to improve equipment performance.
- Identify and conduct studies, tests and
measurements within the Process department in order to improve performance.
- Define the day-to-day set points.
- Ensure correctness of sensors.
- Ensure the quality of process data reported.
- Define an audit plan and supervise the audits
to detect irregularities and find potential improvements.
- Contribute to fuel cost optimization
(optimization of lowest fuel cost) by ensuring and optimizing process
conditions which allow a maximum utilization of alternative fuel and raw
materials.
- Ensure progress in control loop optimization
and high-level automation.
- Ensure existence and correctness of procedures.
- Ensure that process audits and studies are
documented and shared.
- Champion the process awareness within all
departments in the plant.
- Promote exchanges between the process, quality
and Production departments.
- Responsible for the plant process performances,
both short term and long term, within the plant;
- Ensures the process
performance is continuously geared towards HBM Nigeria's best practices.
- Manage
action plans to help achieve this objective.
- Along with other Management team members, take
part in the development of the plant PIP and annual budget.
- Coordinate actions with the Technical Centre.
- Comply with EMS Process Instrumentation
activities.
- Ensure involvement in the implementation and
maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of cement manufacturing process.
o Raw meal
preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
- Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- 8 years’ industrial
experience, 3 of which must have been spent in a heavy industrial engineering
process function.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any engineering discipline (Chemical,
Mechanical or Electrical engineering).
