The Process Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing production processes, ensuring quality standards and improving processes. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. Also, will ensure that the different types of machinery will be in optimal condition, setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting to have an efficient quality production.

 

DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality. Organize and manage resources, monitor progress, identify risks and mitigation.
  • Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition.
  • Leading by example in influencing safe behavior and contributing to establishing an effective safety culture.
  • Lead and supervise a team of production operators engaged in packaging operations.
  • Troubleshoot and make major adjustments to the machines to guarantee high quality production.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement process optimization initiatives.
  • Follow the adjustment and operational procedures according to the work instructions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Ensure an efficient startup of machines at every beginning of shift and after line changes.
  • Analyze and make decisions to schedule corrective maintenance to ensure stability and improvement of the KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Ensure the elaboration of samples for new products, validations and participate in the new implementation process.
  • Monitor and evaluate production processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE

  • + 4 years preferred experience in Manufacturing and operating machinery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.
  • Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and carrying.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Skills Required

  • At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing and operating machinery
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000:2005
  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
