Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for Optimizes the Production organisation's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power Business to be based at Nelamangala, Bangalore.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies for new products using DFA methodology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design efficient assembly processes and line architectures aligned with Lean principles.
- Coordinate industrial performance initiatives through digitalization, standardization, energy-efficient approaches, and the incorporation of innovative technologies in alignment with ABB’s sustainability and product roadmaps.
- Lead end-to-end equipment and assembly line development — from preparing RFQs, supplier selection, validation, and commissioning to ROI analysis and capacity simulation for new products.
- Provide ongoing industrialisation support by resolving critical production issues, monitoring equipment performance, and ensuring robust, efficient, and safe manufacturing processes.
Qualifications for the role:
- Educational Qualification: B.E/ B. Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering with 10–15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and assembly process engineering.
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge in assembly process design, SPM (Special Purpose Machines), fully automatic machine development, lean manufacturing, MTM (Methods Time Measurement), and VSM.
- Assembly Technologies: Practical experience with a wide range of assembly technologies — including laser marking, riveting, soldering, ultrasonic welding, robotics, packaging, vision systems, and pneumatic/Electro-Mechanical systems.
- Process & Line Development: Extensive experience in end-to-end assembly line development, including DFA, PFMEA, LADM documentation, process flow simulation, and capacity/takt time analysis.
- Design & Quality Knowledge: Skilled in jigs and fixture design, GD&T, product qualification principles (Cp, Cpk, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Jidoka), and advanced testing techniques (mechanical, electrical, and thermal).
- Digital & Lean Initiatives: Knowledgeable in Industry 4.0, digitalization in assembly processes, ergonomic and safety standards, and continuous improvement through lean tools and automation integration.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with effective communication and people management capabilities.
