We are currently seeking a Process Engineer at our Mobile, Alabama Mill. Process Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety, quality and operational performance expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all job responsibly in a safe manner while being recognized as a positive role model for safety.

  • Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, polices and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.

  • Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause and viable engineering solutions.

  • Lead development and implementation of key initiatives to improve asset performance and meet team objectives

  • Lead development and implementation of Process Health Management System for the product system.

  • Lead development and implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives including training of technicians.

  • Effective leader and implementer of major activities that support strategy business plans.

  • Provide mentoring to Operating Technicians, Operations Consultants, and Engineers.

  • Provide support to other asset areas as requested.

  • Human resources development in accordance with expected behaviors of the One K-C Behaviors.

  • Provide leadership by example in managing safety, diversity, quality attitudes & practices.

  • Understand and perform basic financial analysis to determine best cost options for process and project initiatives.

  • Ensure work is documented and is retrievable.

  • Working knowledge of PIMS, Process Books, DCS, SAP and strong Excel skills

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Pulp & Paper, or advanced degree in technical field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of expertise in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Other relevant scientific disciplines with the described experience level will also be considered.

  • Experience using manufacturing analytical tools such as statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, engineering statistics and data analyses, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and to lead a team to complete projects within required timeframes.

  • Understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement concepts with demonstrated ability to teach/develop others

  • Evidence of continuing self-development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with external technical service providers

  • Knowledge of recycled fiber processes a plus.
