Job SummaryThe Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a high-tech mechanical assembly environment.
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and parameters to ensure robustness, repeatability, efficiency, yield, and quality
Provide daily production support, troubleshooting process-related issues and leading root cause analysis (RCA, 8Ds)
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, cycle time, throughput, productivity, and cost reduction
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering changes (ECOs), ensuring a stable and controlled ramp-up
Define process parameters, work instructions, control plans, and process documentation methodologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, Design) to improve manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DfA)
Analyze process data to identify trends and improvement opportunities using structured methodologies such as PFMEA, DMAIC, and PDCA
Support equipment validation, tooling development, and process capability improvements
Evaluate materials, manufacturing techniques, and equipment to ensure optimal process performance
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models, ensuring alignment with Critical to Function (CTF) requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ANSI, ASME, AWS) and customer workmanship expectations
Interface with production teams to support process deployment, stabilization, and issue resolution
Support customer-related requirements and workmanship evaluations
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related)
Experience in process engineering within mechanical assembly environments.
Strong experience in root cause analysis (8D, RCA)
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DMAIC, or PDCA
Experience with NPI, ECO implementation, and process validation
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and CAD models
Familiarity with industry standards (ANSI, ASME, AWS is a plus)
Strong cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills
