Based at our production site in Minerbio (Bologna area), you will be part of a team of three process engineers and will report to the Process Engineer Supervisor.

The Process Engineer will be primarily responsible for process designs, improvements, and engineering support for capital projects.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical expert in process chemistry, process design, equipment operation, and manufacturing technologies. Develop a deep understanding of plant processes, operating philosophies, design bases, and control systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Lead new product introductions, technology transfers, and scale-up activities, ensuring successful implementation into manufacturing while maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and process robustness. Provide technical leadership for complex manufacturing challenges, root-cause investigations, and systemic issues affecting safety, quality, yield, productivity, and customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and implementing opportunities to improve process performance, reduce costs, increase yields, and enhance operational reliability. Lead or support Lean Six Sigma projects and develop business cases, project charters, and improvement proposals, including economic evaluations and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Support capital projects from concept through start-up by developing process designs, engineering packages, technology packages, process simulations, material and energy balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process safety reviews. Collaborate closely with project engineers, operations, technology, R&D, and business teams to ensure successful project execution and standardization of manufacturing technologies and best practices.
  • Act as a key contributor to the site's Process Safety Management (PSM) program, including ownership and maintenance of Process Safety Information (PSI) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) elements. Lead or participate in Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), HAZOP studies, and other risk management activities while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and RAGAGEP requirements.
  • Provide technical training, coaching, and ongoing support to operations and engineering teams, helping to optimize equipment performance, operating parameters, process capability, and long-term manufacturing excellence. Act as a technical liaison across functions and leverage internal and external expertise to support strategic objectives and future technology development.
Qualifications

 

  • Engineering degree, preferred Chemical engineering,

  • 5 + year’s experience in a Hazardous manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of Management of relevant country Health and Safety legislation 

  • Experience of Computer Maintenance Management Systems,

  • Continuous Improvement and Change Management skills.
  • Project Management Skills,
  • Strong communication skills and assertiveness are essential.
  • Italian and English
