Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Process Engineer – Level 2 to join our team in Clearfield, UT.
This role partners closely with design engineering, production, and cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues, optimize safety, quality, cost, and efficiency, and implement corrective actions to improve process performance. The successful candidate will analyze production data, support the implementation of tooling and equipment, maintain manufacturing documentation, and present technical solutions to leadership, customers, and engineering review boards.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing and improving manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain detailed work instructions for assigned products/processes
- Coordinates with Design Engineering on design and manufacturability issues
- Coordinates with production on day-to-day activities. Assists in the resolution of processing issues
- Evaluate and aid in the disposition of discrepant hardware
- Troubleshoots existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency
- Analyze processing data to highlight trends and implement corrective actions
- Maintains manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM)
- Performing cause and corrective action activities to eliminate defects permanently
- Working with the concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
- Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and customers for review and approval
- Performing table-top reviews
- Using SPC tools to ensure process control
- Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions
- Supporting design, checkout, qualification, and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree STEM with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
- No clearance required to start
- Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction
- Excellent computer skills. Skilled in working with Microsoft Office applications and business database systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to build strong, working relationships with operations personnel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working with aerospace specifications and drawings, both hard copy and model based
- Experience in working with composite materials
- Experience with insulation / rubber processes
- Experience with composite winding processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
