Job Description:

THE ROLE 

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Engineer II, Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This person will be responsible for Manufacturing Engineering activities in Special Processing manufacturing at our Decatur, TX facility. This role will support specialized graphite manufacturing processes, including silicon carbide conversion, coating, purification, and impregnation, within a highly technical industrial manufacturing environment. 

The Decatur site plays a critical role in producing advanced graphite-based materials and components used across aerospace, semiconductor, medical, and consumer electronics applications. This position is ideal for an engineer or materials scientist who enjoys hands-on manufacturing support, process troubleshooting, and the opportunity to understand, characterize, and improve complex processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Implement SPC and use statistical tools to monitor and improve process control. 

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment failures and work with maintenance team to reduce unscheduled downtimes. 

  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures for manufacturing equipment to proactively reduce equipment failures. 

  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new product developments. 

  • Design fixtures to improve process stability and reduce product variation. 

  • Maintain product quality and closely monitor product performance. 

  • Use 8D data driven approach to identify root cause for failures and corrective/preventative actions. 

  • Create and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, response flows and provide training to direct labor force. 

 

 WHAT WE SEEK 

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or similar 

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of industrial chemical processes 

  • Proficient in process equipment operation and troubleshooting – CVD tools, vacuum furnaces, batch processes, etc. 

  • Experience with ceramic materials preferred 

  • Experience with LEAN, DFM, SPC, and Six Sigma  

  • Knowledge of software for data analysis and presentation, Minitab preferred 

  • Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred

  • Capability to lead cross-functional teams to solve customer and process issues 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

  • Ability to present technical data to all levels of internal and customer organizations 

  • Ability to produce results when facing deadlines or commitments 

  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker 

  • Dependable with flexibility to work shifts, over-time, and weekends to support business needs.
