Basic Responsibilities:
Process & New Product Introduction
• New product planning, introduction, trial preparation, and documentation
• Production capacity studies, line layouts, cycle time studies, processing cost studies
Equipment & Automation
• New equipment specification development, installation and training
• New equipment budget planning, quotation, procurement, and project management
• Automation of manual manufacturing processes, including vision-guided robotics and related technologies
Production Support & Improvement
• Lead and support production line continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead process improvement, machine optimization, and automation evaluation and implementation
• Lead or support root cause analysis and countermeasure development for product and process issues
Documentation & Compliance
• Create and Maintain process documentation (PFMEA, PCS, Process Flows, policies, etc.) in support of IATF and internal manufacturing standards
Baseline Qualifications (Expected for All Candidates)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, Chemical, or related discipline)
• Strong problem-solving mindset with interest in manufacturing and process improvement
• Ability to plan work, manage schedules, and meet project deadlines
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a production environment
• Willingness to engage directly on the factory floor and with manufacturing equipment
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to ~10%) and to support periodic overtime during key milestones such as new line installations
Qualifications Pathway #1 – Early-Career / New Graduate Engineers
• Engineering coursework, laboratories, senior design projects, internships, or co-op experience
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, equipment, or quality systems
• Strong learning agility, curiosity, and ability to apply structured problem-solving methods
Qualifications Pathway #2 – Experienced Engineers
• Hands-on involvement in manufacturing process development, equipment implementation, or production engineering support
• Experience improving quality, cost, delivery, safety, or productivity in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to independently perform root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures
• Proven capability to apply manufacturing systems knowledge to deliver timely, data-based results
Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Work experience that demonstrated the ability to solve problems, learn, and actively adapt
• Experience may include deep expertise in a specific manufacturing area or broad exposure across multiple processes and systems.
• Practical experience of manufacturing technologies to leverage for safety, quality, productivity, or cost improvement including:
• Automated or robotic assembly
• Screw tightening
• Soldering, gel or sealant application
• Automated machine vision inspection
• Familiarity with basic manufacturing concepts such as PFMEA, SPC, process documentation, or standard work
• Exposure to manufacturing data, analytics, equipment connectivity, and process visibility
