Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Dalmuir Vatting team sit within Production and are responsible for Filling, Dumping, Vatting and Warehousing of our products. They are part of the wider Bulk Operations team, who are based across our sites in the Central belt and in Speyside and are driving a high level of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Operational Excellence standards.

Your unique contribution

The role of the Process Controller is to process new and mature spirit to meet business spirit quality and operational goals and customer requirements. 

You will have five main areas of responsibility:

  • Bulk Spirit – to process bulk spirit to meet company safety, spirit quality and operational requirements, using various PC based systems to manage bulk movements of spirit. You will also receive, monitor and maintain stocks of consumables to meet production requirements.
  • Operations – to operate reverse Osmosis Plant and carry out analysis of water and perform fault finding analysis to optimise plant performance. You will also perform basic mechanical and electrical routine maintenance tasks and with your understanding of the plant, you will discuss operational capabilities with Planning.
  • Collaboration – to actively contribute towards continuously improving processes and develop professional working relationships with internal and external customers to meet their requirements.
  • Compliance – to demonstrate competency in performing Safety Critical Tasks and contribute towards a positive safety culture. You will also report health and safety issues and contribute towards business improvements. You will ensure HMRC compliance by adhering to company policies and procedures and take ownership for site effluent compliance.
  • Contractors – to ensure contractors working on site are doing so in a safe & responsible manner as per work instructions or permit to work.

Internally, you will collaborate with other departments across the business including Operations, Planning, Blending & Engineering.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role with experience in the use of calibration of laboratory equipment and an understanding of performance requirements, spirit quality requirements and On Time in Full (OTIF).
  • Are able to work proactively as part of a self-managed team and have a pragmatic, insightful approach to problem solving and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Can demonstrate capability to develop skills in operating Personal Computer and PLC based systems to control, monitor, maintain, communicate and report on production operations to the required standard.
  • Are able to write and continuously improve procedures.
  • Have a Full driving licence and are able to undertake business travel as required.
