We’re looking for
Process Application Development Engineer
Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.
As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.
About the job
As Process Application Development Engineer, your responsibility will span over a wide range and involve close co-operation with Business Units within our Food & Water, Energy and Marine divisions as well as R&D specialists, Sales Companies and customers.
Your tasks will involve identifying, testing, evaluating and developing separation processes, both in our own lab and at customer sites, to shape the future of high speed separator technology. With a focus on marine process solutions, you will work in challenging and dynamic environments, ensuring our separation technology performs optimally under real-world conditions. This gives you a great opportunity to follow the process from start to finish, from lab-scale development to full-scale implementation onboard vessels, adapting to demanding maritime conditions along the way. You will experience firsthand how our solutions operate in real-life marine applications, solving challenges and optimizing performance in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Operating high-speed separator processes in both pilot and full-scale settings, as well as working with analytical instruments, is part of the job. You will also be responsible for providing advanced training and technical sales support.
You will be based at our office in Flemingsberg, Sweden. Travel is expected to be approximately 40 days internationally per year.
Who are you?
You are curious, eager to take on challenges, and unafraid to try new approaches. You take initiative, enjoy problem-solving, and are willing to go the extra mile when needed. You can work independently as well as in teams, and you thrive in an environment that combines hands-on experience with theoretical development.
What you know
You have a solid technical competence, a university degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. You are fluent in English. Experience from the process industry and/or working with centrifugal separation is beneficial. Additional skills in mechanical workshop work, software programming, and electronics are a plus.
What’s in it for you?
We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success.
