Micron Technology is looking for motivated Process Technicians and Equipment Maintenance Technicians to support wafer fabrication in a dynamic and collaborative manufacturing environment. In these roles, you will monitor equipment and processes, solve technical problems, and partner with Shift Operations, engineers, and vendors to improve performance, yield, and reliability.

Process Technician Responsibilities

  • Operate and support semiconductor equipment while partnering with multi-functional teams to maintain and improve wafer fabrication processes.
  • Work with engineering teams to enhance workstations and use structured troubleshooting methods for process or equipment issues.
  • Monitor process indicators such as SPC charts, dashboards, and alarms, and take action when conditions fall outside expected ranges.
  • Communicate clearly, prioritize tasks effectively, and follow procedures with limited supervision.
  • Collect, review, and document production and process data to support quality, yield, and traceability.
  • Run experiments, perform process tests, and create data visualizations to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete required safety training, work safely in various environments, and respond appropriately to potential hazards.
  • Participate in shift pass‑downs and collaborate across teams to ensure smooth production.

Minimum Qualifications – Process Technician

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off) and adjust to overtime or shift changes as needed.
  • Ability to wear cleanroom garments (about 20% of the time based on department) and occasional PPE such as chemical aprons and face shields.

Preferred Qualifications – Process Technician

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience, technical certification, military training, or coursework in engineering, science, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Experience following processes, working with data, or supporting operations in cleanroom, laboratory, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with process monitoring, data analysis, or basic statistical concepts (training provided on Micron systems).

Equipment Technician Responsibilities

  • Partner with team members and vendors to monitor equipment performance, complete preventive maintenance, and resolve safety concerns.
  • Perform light assembly work, maintain cleanroom standards, lift materials (25–40 lbs), and use handheld tools to support equipment uptime.
  • Wear cleanroom garments throughout the shift and use PPE (such as chemical aprons or face shields) as needed.
  • Document equipment issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and support improvements that reduce repeat failures.
  • Safely complete physically active tasks such as standing up to 10 hours, walking 1–5 miles per shift, and working in tight or uneven areas.
  • Handle gases and chemicals safely, maintain awareness of surroundings, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Lead and support equipment maintenance and improvement projects, ensuring alignment with schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Understand mechanical, electrical, or controls aspects of HVAC/R systems, including chillers, compressed air, heating and cooling water, exhaust, and cleanroom equipment.

Minimum Qualifications – Equipment Technician

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, or a related technical field and/or 2 years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or equivalent technical military experience.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off) and move between day and night shifts every 4 months.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
  • At least 2 years of experience using mechanical, electrical, or software skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

Preferred Qualifications – Equipment Technician

  • 4+ years of experience supporting or maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or comparable technical systems.
  • 4+ years of experience leading equipment‑related projects with strong alignment to schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Experience managing improvements that enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
