Wells Fargo is seeking a Procedure Writer
In this role, you will:
- Participate in establishing documentation guidelines and procedure audits
- Review regulatory changes or partner with regulatory change agents to proactively identify required updates
- Maintain document library or repository and update tables in appropriate systems
- Review changes to business operations for potential impact to other documentation or resources
- Create, edit and format moderately complex to complex internal manuals, materials, or other documentation related procedures and policies
- Publish moderately complex web content in accordance to standards
- Present recommendations for resolving moderately complex to complex problems and projects
- Assist others to resolve process gaps, providing input and suggestions based on observations
- Research, review and translate technical information to users
- Provide guidance to less experienced staff
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Partner with subject matter professionals to understand business needs as it relates to procedures
- 2+ years of Procedure Writing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Develop, write, edit, and maintain high-quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documents, job aids, workflows, and business related content.
- Collaborate with SMEs, business partners, process owners, compliance, and risk teams to gather information, validate content, and ensure alignment.
- Translate complex operational, technical, and regulatory information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal policies, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and industry guidelines.
- Review and update procedures to reflect business changes, regulatory updates, audit findings, and operational improvements.
- Maintain version control, document governance, and content accuracy within internal repositories and content management systems.
- Standardize documentation format, tone, structure, and style according to organizational branding and style guidelines.
- Facilitate working sessions and workshops with stakeholders to gather updates, review changes, and confirm procedural accuracy.
- Assess business and regulatory changes to identify downstream impacts on procedures and related reference materials.
- Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation efforts by providing accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Identify documentation gaps and recommend improvements to enhance clarity, completeness, and process effectiveness.
- Research and interpret technical or regulatory content and translate it for business audiences.
- Provide guidance and support to junior or less-experienced team members.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve documentation dependencies and ensure timely delivery of required materials.
- 2+ experience in content management, documentation, procedure writing, preferably in Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong ability to simplify complex information into clear, structured documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Experience in Agile / Jira or similar workflow/ticketing tools.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and documentation tools.
