The Procedure Coordinator CST/ RN assists in operations, including helping set up the operating suite and maintaining the sterile field, transporting patients to surgery, and assisting with procedures. In this role you will provide professional care for patients under the supervision of the provider and educate patients on procedures and follow up care. You will also assist in the orientation and continuing education of other staff in the perioperative area by assisting with the implementation of all policies and procedures for designated specialty area.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
GYN Service Line
Serves as liaison and coordinates all aspects of care by partnering with physicians (surgeons and anesthesiologists) and vendors, to ensure specialty area needs are addressed.
Oversees maintenance of physician preference cards, instrument sets, implants, and equipment for specialty area.
Maintains awareness of items that require counts, and assists the circulating nurse with the count process.
Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and irrigation solutions utilized during the surgical procedure.
Assists in the cleanup of surgical environment after a procedure, ensuring the operating room is cleaned and set up for turnover to the next procedure.
Assists in transporting patients, as required.
Assists with handling specimens, in accordance with unit policy and procedure, as required.
Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out the procedure, to ensure correct patient and site.
Qualifications
2 years Operating Room Experience Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
Registered Nurse with active Indiana License
