Position Description:
The Analyst will be responsible for financial analysis support for transaction due diligence and ongoing portfolio monitoring. Financial analysis responsibilities will include in-depth financial models that are supported by data and accounting principles. This person will also be involved in developing investment theses and assisting in driving an investment process.
The Analyst will work closely will senior members of the Firm and have extensive interaction with management teams and external advisors. He/she is self-motivated, has a strong sense of personal ownership, can influence and develop recommendations, has a continuous improvement mindset, and has an ability to thrive in (and make strong contributions to) a team-based environment.
Responsibilities of the new hire will include but not be limited to, the following:
- Examining industry trends and identifying new investment themes
- Gathering and synthesizing industry and market data
- Performing initial review of business opportunities and discussing across investment team and Firm leadership
- Contributing to key diligence workstreams and coordinating third party diligence advisors
- Leading construction of detailed financial models and valuation analysis
- Drafting oral and written materials for management and investors
- Supporting and reporting on key developments and initiatives at portfolio companies
- Evaluating value-creation and strategic opportunities such as M&A or entering new markets/verticals
- Being proactive in all matters arising in the ordinary course of investment management
- Interacting with the Firm’s investors, clients and limited partners
What it Takes:
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and personal attributes:
- 1-4 years of professional experience from Investment Banking / Private Equity and/or Corporate Development / M&A
- Quantitative business analysis / financial analysis skills
- Comfort interacting with C-level executives
- Other key attributes: strong investment instinct; solid finance, accounting and modeling skills; knowledge of business strategy and analysis; genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for investing; demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively; strong attention to detail; and a maturity and desire that enables the candidate to work in a collaborative team environment
