Responsibilities:
- Act as a legal point of contact on behalf of the Privacy Team
- Conduct privacy, security, and AI-related legal research on a federal, state, and international level
- Prepare and provide legal opinions regarding internal processes and procedures, Acxiom data use cases and special projects with guidance from the Chief Privacy Officer
- Assess the impact of proposed laws, regulations, cases, industry policies and Acxiom’s self-regulation policies, all to provide advice to affected stakeholders on compliance
- Maintain the list of laws and regulations that touch the business, tracking proposed legislation and regulations, and updating stakeholders, as required
- Participate in numerous internal and external committees
- Lead various strategic committees to ensure Acxiom is compliant with federal and state privacy and AI legislation
- Provide legal oversight and approval where necessary for the Data Source Credentialing program
- Serve as an escalation point for several areas of Acxiom including the consumer care team
- Assist in standard consumer opt-out request escalations, consumer inquiry escalations, and legislative specific reporting issues and escalations
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school, a license from a state bar, and a minimum of 2 years as an attorney
- Ability to identify issues of concern and mitigate risks, negotiate contracts with opposing counsel, perform legal research and draft memorandums advising the business of issues, risks and potential options
Preferred
- Experience with the key privacy and AI legislation and regulations in the US and internationally
- Self-study of products/services and areas of regulatory and legislative impact to Acxiom
