Position Summary

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager – Power Conversion & eBOS to lead the development and lifecycle management of key Power Conversion and eBOS products. This individual will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of power electronics, wire management, and electrical interconnect systems that seamlessly integrate with NextPower’s solar tracker platforms.

The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of electrical systems and product development, strong cross-functional leadership, and a data-driven approach to product decisions. This role is both strategic and hands-on, bridging engineering, manufacturing, and customer success functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the roadmap and lifecycle for Power Conversion (inverters) and eBOS products (DC string combiners, AC/DC disconnects, wire management assemblies, trunk bus assemblies), and other power collection platforms.
  • Define product requirements based on market analysis, customer needs, and field feedback. Manage suppliers product-related tasks.
  • Drive end-to-end product development in collaboration with engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes (NEC, UL, IEEE, grid codes) and regional standards. Oversee the development of power system models (PSCAD, PSSE, TSAT, etc.)
  • Serve as the technical voice for the products you will manage, supporting customer and supplier discussions, field escalations, and technical enablement for sales teams.
  • Assess new technologies and design approaches to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Translate field performance data into actionable insights to iterate and improve product designs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across tracker, power electronics, and digital solutions teams to deliver cohesive system offerings.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on go-to-market strategies, value proposition articulation, and technical collateral.
  • Support supplier qualification and manufacturing transitions as needed to scale production.

Required Qualifications

  • A BS or MS Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience with PV- or Battery-system design and applications.
  • Good understanding of physics, component selection of semiconductor devices, magnetics, cable/bus bar and protection devices.
  • Familiarity with key solar industry suppliers and product offers
  • Knowledge of relevant IEC, UL & NEC, and grid code compliance requirements
  • Willingness to travel (<10% of time) to US, Europe, and India.
  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PV+Storage and Data center applications
  • Experience resolving issues from the field, performing root cause analysis, and designing mitigations
  • Supplier qualification for product development purposes
  • Experience leading electrical product development projects
