Principal UX Designer
Job Overview:
As OneTrust continues to expand across Privacy, Security, Data Governance, GRC, and Third-Party Risk solutions, we’re seeking a Principal UX Designer to define the vision and experience strategy for one of our product domains. As a Principal UX Designer at OneTrust, you lead the vision and experience strategy for your domain—defining how customers engage with complex, data-driven workflows across our AI-powered platform. You partner closely with your 3-in-a-box counterparts in Product and Engineering to shape quarterly roadmaps, ensuring every release delivers measurable improvements to usability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You operate at both strategic and execution levels: conducting and synthesizing research, using metrics and data to guide design direction, and communicating insights that influence product and organizational decisions. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is carried through development, delivering experiences that are consistent, scalable, and customer-centered.
You are a hands-on design leader who thrives in ambiguity—mentoring others, defining patterns and best practices, and helping evolve how AI enhances OneTrust experiences. Your work sets the standard for quality and design maturity across squads and product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- hape and own the design direction for your domain, aligning product roadmaps with clear user outcomes and AI-driven experience goals.
- Balance delivery and vision—driving critical sprint work while defining long-term UX strategy with your 3-in-a-box partners.
- Design scalable, intelligent solutions that impact multiple product areas and improve end-to-end customer journeys.
- Lead your cross-functional team to deliver consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality user experiences in every release.
- Use metrics, data, and customer research to uncover user needs, guide product decisions, and measure user experiences.
- Conduct and synthesize research to validate design direction and de-risk assumptions.
- Meet with customers weekly to understand their goals and represent their voice throughout the SDLC.
- Elevate UX quality through mentorship—guiding designers in interaction patterns, AI integration, and research practices.
- Advocate for UX excellence across stakeholders, promoting a user-centered, AI-empowered design culture.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and design rationale effectively across teams and leadership.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for team outcomes, ensuring every experience shipped advances both customer and business goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years of experience creating B2B products.
- A solid portfolio showcasing design thinking, visual design, interaction design, prototyping, UX writing, and user research skills.
- Proven experience building products in an agile software development environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply UX design and strategy to complex, enterprise-level problems.
- Advanced expertise in Figma; able to manage and optimize complex design files efficiently.
- High degree of visual polish in UI design and clear communication of detailed interactions with engineers.
- Experience designing within WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
- Skilled in gathering customer insights through qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experienced in methods such as data collection, heuristic evaluations, and journey mapping.
- Passionate about understanding user behavior, reimagining existing products, and creating frictionless experiences.
- Clear, concise, and persuasive communicator who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Leads by example and mentors others in UX methods and design best practices.
- Resilient and adaptable—able to manage multiple inputs, balance priorities, and meet evolving deadlines.
- Holds high standards for design quality and continuously refines UX skills and best practices.
- Maintains a learning mindset with intellectual curiosity and a drive to grow and innovate.
