Scopely is looking for a Principal UX designer to join our Monopoly GO! team in Seville (Spain) on a hybrid basis!

What You Will Do:In this Principal UX Design role, you work in close partnership with our product and development teams to create new gameplay experiences for players.
- Own the end-to-end UX strategy and execution for a product area, driving initiatives independently from discovery through implementation
- Identify opportunities to improve the player experience through product thinking, player insights and data
- Lead discovery initiatives to deepen our understanding of player behaviors, motivations and opportunities
- Drive ideation of new concepts, facilitating workshops, brainstorming sessions, conceptual designs and prototypes to validate ideas early
- Create innovative player experiences while balancing creativity with product goals, technical constraints and production realities
- Help evolve UX frameworks, principles and design patterns that promote consistency, scalability and high-quality player experiences across the game
- Champion user research as an essential part of the UX process, partnering with Research to identify risks, define learning objectives and translate findings into product decisions
- Deliver high-quality designs, prototypes and documentation that clearly communicate the intended player experience to Product, Engineering and Art
- Build strong cross-functional relationships, proactively driving alignment and helping teams navigate ambiguity to reach the best player-focused solutions
- Contribute to the growth of the UX discipline by sharing knowledge, raising quality standards and helping build a collaborative design culture
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience designing user experiences for games
- Proven track record of creating impactful gameplay features with deep expertise in game mechanics, player motivations, progression systems, rewards and player psychology
- Strong product thinking, with the ability to balance player needs, business goals and technical constraints when making design decisions
- Experience independently owning complex product areas and driving work forward
- Expertise creating prototypes to validate ideas, identify risks early and iterate quickly
- Ability to seamlessly move between tactical execution and strategic thinking, ensuring day-to-day design decisions support broader product goals
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively, influence decisions through collaboration and build alignment across disciplines
- Highly collaborative designer who proactively shares ideas, seeks feedback and contributes positively to team culture
- Strong communication, diplomacy and relationship building skills, with the ability to navigate disagreements professionally while keeping player experience at the center of decision making
- Comfortable working in ambiguity, proactively identifying opportunities and taking ownership to move initiatives forward
- Passion for mentoring, raising craft quality and contributing to the continuous improvement of the UX discipline
