Job DescriptionJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Transport Planner to join our dynamic team in Kingdom of Bahrain. As a key member of our organization, you will lead the delivery of transport planning services for projects, ensuring effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of transportation in one of the world's most rapidly developing regions
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate small to mid-size project teams, overseeing transport planning tasks and projects
- Conduct comprehensive transport studies and provide expert technical guidance in areas such as traffic engineering, smart cities, and transport modeling
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges
- Manage project deliverables, task allocation, presentations, and reports to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Engage with clients as a key point of contact for projects and proposals
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Mentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the transport planning department
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to maintain the organization's competitive edge
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and stakeholder consultations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field (required)
- Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning (preferred)
- Membership in a professional institution or society such as CIHT, ICE, or TPS
- Eligibility for chartership/certification/license from a recognized professional body (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner) is preferred

- Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals for traffic studies and master planning services
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Adaptability to work in diverse cultural environments and willingness to travel locally within the UAE and regionally to neighboring countries

Experience
- 10-15 years of experience in transportation engineering and planning
- Profound understanding of transport planning and modeling principles
- Expertise in using industry-standard software such as Cube Voyager, PTV VISUM, SIDRA, Synchro, and HCS+
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentations
- Proven project management experience, including coordinating teams and managing workloads
- Excellent knowledge of quality assurance/control processes and procedures in project delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior colleagues
- Proficiency in statistical tools, database software packages, and GIS (e.g., ArcGIS)
- Knowledge of road safety principles and practices
- Must have experience in parking management, parking demand and supply
- Should have experience in micro mobility studies and smart city projects
Authorized to work in Bahrain and previous registration with CRPEP preferred.
