Job Summary:
As the Principal Technical Product Manager for End-to-End System Integration, you will be responsible for defining, aligning, and orchestrating the delivery of autonomous solutions across multiple product domains. This role serves as the primary integration point across domain Technical Product Managers, ensuring mission objectives, sub-missions, dependencies, priorities, and technical outcomes remain aligned throughout the product lifecycle.
The position partners closely with Technical Product Managers, System Engineering, Program Management, Architecture, Safety, Data, Deployment, and Customer Readiness teams to ensure autonomy capabilities are developed as a cohesive end-to-end system. The Principal Technical Product Manager drives mission alignment, cross-domain prioritization, dependency management, integration readiness, and system-level outcome delivery while providing visibility into risks, tradeoffs, and execution progress across the autonomy ecosystem.
What You Will Do:
Maximize the value of the end-to-end autonomous solution and define work across multiple scrum teams and product domains. Collaborate with Technical Product Managers, Product Owners, System Engineering, Architecture, Safety, Data, Deployment, and Customer Readiness teams to own and progressively elaborate system-level Epics, Features, and integration requirements. The Product Manager is empowered to make all decisions regarding the End-to-End System Product Backlog.
  • Owns definition of acceptance criteria for system-level capabilities, integrated workflows, and mission outcomes.
  • Drive alignment across domain Technical Product Managers to ensure priorities, roadmaps, and deliverables support overarching mission objectives.
  • Ensure mission and sub-mission objectives are clearly defined, understood, and traceable across all product domains.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning and roadmap alignment activities to ensure coordinated delivery across autonomy, safety, data, deployment, customer readiness, and platform teams.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate dependencies, risks, conflicts, and integration challenges across multiple product domains.
  • Drive tradeoff discussions and prioritization decisions to balance mission value, technical complexity, schedule constraints, and resource availability.
  • Establish and maintain visibility into system-level readiness, integration maturity, and milestone achievement.
  • Partner with System Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure domain capabilities integrate into a cohesive end-to-end autonomous solution.
  • Responsible for making decisions on integration priorities, milestone readiness, release sequencing, and system-level outcomes.
  • Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

  • Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business, mission, and stakeholder needs; ability to align multiple product domains toward common outcomes that deliver value.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze dependencies, risks, priorities, tradeoffs, and mission objectives to reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, priorities, risks, and dependencies across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Product Management: Knowledge of product strategy, roadmap management, prioritization, requirements management, backlog development, and product lifecycle practices; ability to align multiple products toward common business and mission outcomes.
  • Systems Integration and Architecture: Knowledge of systems engineering principles, system architectures, interface management, integration planning, and validation methodologies required to deliver complex autonomous solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Knowledge of organizational alignment, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and cross-functional execution; ability to drive collaboration and accountability across multiple teams and product domains.
  • Autonomous Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of autonomous systems, machine integration, safety, deployment, customer operations, and end-to-end solution delivery; ability to understand how individual capabilities contribute to overall mission success.

  • Lead complex autonomy programs by aligning multiple product domains toward common mission objectives and measurable business outcomes.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Systems Engineering, Program Management, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing dependencies across complex systems, platforms, or autonomous solutions.
  • Experience driving system-level roadmap alignment, integration planning, prioritization, and tradeoff decision-making across multiple product organizations.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, autonomous systems development, integration management, and end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Experience preparing integrated systems for demonstrations, operational deployments, milestone reviews, and system readiness reviews.
  • Cat domain knowledge and experience supporting autonomous machines, connected products, advanced technology programs, or large-scale integrated systems preferred.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
