Principal Technical Lead

We are looking for a Principal Technical Lead to serve as a cornerstone of our engineering excellence. In this high-impact role, you will define the technical vision for our most ambitious front-end projects, navigating the complexities of large-scale client ecosystems. You won’t just lead projects; you will shape the long-term technical roadmap, act as a strategic partner to global brands, and cultivate a culture of elite engineering across our cross-functional teams.

As a Principal Technical Lead at Apadmi, you will be the architectural authority for our premier digital products. Operating at the intersection of high-level strategy and hands-on execution, you will manage our most significant client relationships, ensuring technical excellence aligns with business objectives. You’ll be a mentor to leads and a visionary for our front-end community, driving innovation within our global portfolio.

What you’ll be working on

You will provide the overarching technical steer for front-end architecture, making high-stakes decisions that ensure scalability and resilience. As a primary client-facing lead, you will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and elegant technical solutions, while fostering a high-performance culture through mentorship and the evolution of our agile engineering standards.

• Define and own the front-end architectural vision for enterprise-scale projects, ensuring robust, future-proof solutions.

• Act as the primary technical consultant for major clients. Consulting on early client engagements, translating business goals into technical strategies and building deep-rooted professional trust.

• Promote shared ownership and accountability across multiple scrum teams, ensuring consistency in patterns, performance, and security.

• Champion and evolve agile methodologies and DevOps cultures, identifying bottlenecks in the delivery lifecycle and implementing systemic improvements.

• Coach Senior Developers and Tech Leads, fostering a culture of continuous growth, psychological safety, and technical excellence.

• Lead by example by contributing to mission-critical code, setting the gold standard for clean, maintainable, and high-performance engineering.

• Drive the technical discovery phase for new large-scale engagements, performing feasibility studies and defining MVP boundaries.

• Oversee the implementation of rigorous automated testing, accessibility standards, and CI/CD pipelines across the front-end estate.

What you’ll bring to the team

You are a seasoned technologist with a track record of delivering complex, large-scale web applications. Your expertise extends beyond code; you are a master communicator who thrives in client-facing environments and possesses the strategic mindset required to navigate the challenges of global enterprise digital transformation.

• Extensive experience architecting large-scale web applications using React (or similar) and modern state management patterns.

• Proven ability to engage with C-suite and Director-level stakeholders, articulating technical concepts with clarity and commercial awareness.

• Deep proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with a holistic understanding of how front-end systems integrate with complex back-end architectures.

• A comprehensive understanding of Web Vitals, advanced performance optimization, and WCAG accessibility compliance at scale.

• Experience architecting solutions with modern CMS platforms (Contentful, Sanity, etc.) and understanding the nuances of composable architecture.

• A proactive approach to identifying technical debt and a disciplined methodology for managing it alongside new feature delivery.
