Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Sector is seeking a Principal Program Cost Control Analyst (level 3) or Sr Program Cost Control Analyst (Level 4) to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance within the Advanced Weapons Systems Operating Unit (OU). The positions are based out of based out of Northridge, CA and will report to the Business Manager over the Stand-in-Attack Weapon program. There is no telework option for this position; it will be located in Northridge, CA.
This role will be responsible for implementing data driven analytics into effective program performance outcomes. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced across financial management, leadership, collaboration, innovation, communication, project management, risk/opportunity management, business acumen, and proposal-based capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Accurately forecast program financial metrics including Orders, Sales, OM and Cash Flow for both booked and potential programs
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables
Generate and support weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and audits consisting of operations, planning, program management and EACs
Identifies and mitigates program cost and schedule risk
Inter/Intracompany work order processing
Maintain project setup in Costpoint and Cobra as needed
Performs analyses and prepares program financial reports for internal and external customers relative to program cost incurrence, material tracking, and labor spending.
Performs analyses and prepares reports to ensure program contracts are within negotiated, agreed-upon parameters, government cost control guidelines, and accounting guidelines
Preparation and processing of Journal Entries
Prepare and submit timely and accurate Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
Prepare, review, and analyze program performance measurement and cost variances.
Provide administrative/ad hoc support to team
Supports program cost estimate development, customer proposals, and negotiation.
Track and manage program billings and cash collections
Basic Qualifications Level 3:
Must have 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Strong PC skills and proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with technical subject matter experts and business operations personnel.
Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive
Experience managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, while maintaining attention to detail and effective time management/organization
Must be able to work onsite in Northridge, CA
Basic Qualifications Level 4:
Must have 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 6 years experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Strong PC skills and proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with technical subject matter experts and business operations personnel.
Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive
Experience managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, while maintaining attention to detail and effective time management/organization
Must be able to work onsite in Northridge, CA
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD security clearance.
Aerospace & Defense Finance experience
Experience with multiple contract types (Cost Plus Fixed Fees/Cost Plus Incentive Fees, Cost Plus Award Fees, Firm Fixed Price/Firm Price Incentive Fee) desired
Familiarity with: Deltek Costpoint, IBM Cognos, Cobra, MS Project
Knowledge of and familiarity with Earned Value Management principles
Understanding of the RFP / proposal process
