Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal/Sr Principal Financial Analysts to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance on Low Rate Initial Production and Full Rate Production Advanced Weapon Programs. The positions are based out of based out of Northridge, CA and will report to the Business Manager over Air Warfare Systems. This role will be responsible for implementing data driven analytics into effective program performance outcomes. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced across leadership, collaboration, innovation, communication, project management, risk/opportunity management, business acumen, and proposal-based capabilities. Responsibilities and essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Development of the consolidated Long Range Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan
- Management of program financials, including: financial and cost forecasting, reporting and analysis, profitability analysis, and working capital analysis (accounts receivable forecasting, treasury forecasting, unbilled analysis, and aged receivables analysis)
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Work with the finance, scheduling, and business management teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance based on metrics
- Support the development of presentations for, and occasionally brief to, Division/Sector/Corporate leadership
- Interface with business, program, and corporate personnel
- Prepare, analyze and report monthly revenue and material receipt forecasts for assigned contracts
- Generate weekly material reports and publications
- Calculation and tracking of material related metrics
- Interface with Supply Chain, Planners, and Buyers to ensure up to date forecasts and maintain accuracy
- Prepare reports and provide recommendations to program management teams
- Implement and maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance including cost/schedule/technical integration
- Perform analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
- Develop and review Baselines and Estimates at Complete (EACs); Present and communicate results and changes
- Work with the Capture Lead, Proposal Manager, and core teams to develop the compliant proposal and supporting deliverables
- Provide support to the proposal team by developing, reviewing, and submitting proposals that effectively represent the proposal strategy and baseline
Basic Qualifications for
Principal Financial Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years of Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Science, and/or Aerospace and Defense Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 4 years of stated Aerospace and Defense Business experience; or 10 years of Finance, Accounting, Aerospace and Defense Business-related experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with CostPoint, IBM Cognos software (or another similar software), database software
- Working experience with Department of Defense ACAT programs to implement and execute Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS
- Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry manufacturing environment
- Experience reviewing, understanding, and responding to customer requests for proposal (RFPs) on competitive and sole source acquisitions
- Proficiency in COBRA
- Expertise in financial analysis
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
Sr Principal Financial Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Science, and/or Aerospace and Defense Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 8 years of stated Aerospace and Defense Business experience; or 1 years of Finance, Accounting, Aerospace and Defense Business-related experience in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Public Accounting experience (each year of "Big 4" or relevant Public Accounting experience counts for 2 years of experience above)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Strong GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience
- Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a keen attention to detail
- Strong project management skills
- Experience supporting competitive and sole source proposals with values greater than $250M
- Prior experience in Estimating and Pricing DoD ACAT programs
Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $109,900.00 - $164,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
