Principal Specialist – Information Management (SmartPlant Tools)

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Engineering Project Information/Digital Engineering functions but not limited to collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
• Responsible for overall application development, customization, and configuration of Hexagon's SmartPlant tools, including 2D tools and AutoCAD.
• Establish and develop Digital Engineering/Data management Reports for all S 2D tools ( SPPID, SPI and S3D) including completeness and Consistency reports across all S2D and S3D tools.
• Set up and administer multi-discipline detailed design projects using SmartPlant tools and AutoCAD:

• Customization of new Name rule
• Custom command development
• SQL and Oracle Server Expertise
• Create procedures and functions in SQL

• Coordinate multi-discipline activities for digital engineering-related tasks.
• Develop and establish dashboard reports for data progress measurement and automate project reports for all SmartPlant tools (S2D tools and S3D).
• Set up and publish regular data completeness and consistency reports to the project.
• Possess good knowledge and exposure to all programming applications, including all SmartPlant tools applications (SPPID, SPI, SPEL, and S3D).
• Responsible for day-to-day digital engineering activities comprising both 2D tools data and 3D data:

• ­Perform data integrity checks
• ­Produce reports
• ­Ensure data consistency

• Perform regular data validation checks, flag inconsistencies to engineering, and resolve the inconsistencies.
• Perform data loading/importing to databases.
• Manage tags and data.
• Manage the data class library for the project.
• Follow contractual requirements for information/data turnover to ensure a seamless transfer of information to the client.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering
• Approximately 12–15 years of working experience with various SmartPlant tools, including development and customization of various S2D and S3D tools, as well as report generation
• Experience with SmartPlant tools, including Smart 3D and other associated S3D applications, customization, and development, MicroStation, and AutoCAD
• Possess leadership and decision-making skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Strong facilitation, analytical, and design skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize support activities and manage multiple tasks
• Experience with Oracle DB and Visual Basic DB is an added advantage
