Overview of Job Function:
The Principal DevOps Engineer works in the R&D organization and serves as the technical cornerstone of our infrastructure and automation practice. The engineer is responsible for the strategic architecture and continuous improvement of our hybrid-cloud and CI/CD ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of development and operations, demanding a leader who can bridge the gap between high-level business goals and ground-level technical execution across Azure, AWS, and GitHub.
ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
- Architectural Leadership: Leads the design and evolution of our global infrastructure ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency across both AWS and Azure environments.
- Standardize and optimize delivery pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub actions.
- Artifact management: own the strategy and security posture of our artifact repository
- Act as Project Owner for various DevOps Projects
- Leads intra group training in new technology
- Support day-to-day user issues for the Global Self Service Portal (Snow Commander based) for Verint Global users via ServiceNow ticket system
- Day to day support actions of Azure, AWS, GitHub, and Artifactory
- Support Network operations – Both physical and virtual
- Support, understand, and troubleshoot Virtual automation, scripting, PowerShell or power CLI for managing virtual infrastructure
- Leverage capacity planning tools to manage Hyper-V and VMware infrastructure through dashboards
- Triage environment’s and act as a personal trainer to the user community
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks for multiple projects simultaneously
Minimum Requirements:
- BS degree in IT, Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent industry experience required.
- 6+ years working in Docker or Kubernetes environments
- Working knowledge and understanding of Terraform, PowerShell, CloudFormation, or Bash scripting
- 6+ years of experience supporting and configuring Azure (AKS, Entra ID, Azure Devops), AWS (EKS, S3, IAM), and related management tools to proactively manage infrastructure.
- Working knowledge and understanding modern CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins at scale.
- 6+ years of managing GitHub or other code repository platforms.
- Professional experience managing JFrog Artifactory, including repository clean-up, virtual repositories, and security scanning.
- Critical thinking, self-directed, team player, problem solver.
- Experience leading large-scale migrations of Jenkins pipelines to cloud-based solutions.
- Experience migrating workloads from on-premises based solutions (VMWare, vRealize suite)
- Networking background or equivalent certifications for Azure/AWS/Cisco solutions
- Experience working in an infrastructure support role, servicing internal customers and meeting internal SLA’s
- Experience implementing DevSecOps into CI/CD process
- Experience implementing FinOps to continuously monitor and optimize costs
- Experience building internal automation and platforms to improve DevOps operations and developer experience.
