Job Description:
The Lead level is viewed as an expert in systems software engineering. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous systems software engineering issues. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements complex operating systems components, software tools, and utilities. Makes complex modifications to existing software to fit specialized needs and configurations. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team. Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. Monitors project schedules and costs.
Responsibilities:
- Look at the overall development of Test Automation and Quality Practices across FRR organization
- Look at the overall Solution of QE and Consistent dev Practices.
- Develop WK Test Automation Framework and design the Test Architecture
- Develop reusable JavaScript Packages exposing Key Functionalities
- Should have knowledge of development lifecycle.
- Develop a comprehensive test automation strategy aligned with the organizations quality objectives and Agile/DevOps practices. Define guidelines, standards, and best practices for test automation across different applications and technologies.
- Design and customize automation frameworks to enable efficient development, maintenance, and execution of automated tests.
- Define and implement the necessary infrastructure, such as test environments, CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and reporting mechanisms, to support robust test automation processes. Ensure scalability, stability, and reliability of the automation infrastructure.
- Collaborate with rest of QE teams and Dev teams, in test planning and execution activities. Provide guidance on identifying suitable test cases for automation, developing automation scripts, and managing test data. Ensure effective test coverage and traceability through automation.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of automated tests and test frameworks to identify areas for improvement. Analyze test metrics and provide recommendations for optimization and efficiency enhancement.
- Champion the integration of test automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing. Collaborate with development, operations, and release management teams to establish smooth workflows and ensure reliable test automation execution.
- Provide guidance and training to QE teams on test automation practices, tools, and technologies. Foster a culture of automation and empower team members to contribute effectively to automation efforts.
Requirements:
- 15 to 20 years of overall experience in software quality engineering, including experience in test automation and test frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, etc
- Strong in programming languages like JavaScript, Typescript etc
- Hand on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab.
- Hands on experience with cloud-based testing and virtualization tools.
- Very good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Leadership abilities with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation solutions in complex software development projects.
- Product installation, docker image creation, Release management
- Strong understanding of Functional, Integration, regression, and end to end testing
- Hands on with Jira
- Hands on experience with performance test tools like Blaze meter.
