The Intelligent Analytics team within the Power BI - Core AI organization is at the forefront of innovation, developing intuitive experiences for analysts and developers. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver innovative and impactful features within Power BI
- AI-Native Development - Improves artificial intelligence (AI) tools and practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members
- Partners with and guides appropriate internal and external stakeholders and leverages expertise to determine and confirm customer/user requirements and their feasibility for a set of scenarios
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Rust, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience leading complex technical initiatives that span multiple teams, services, or organizations. Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence. Proficiency in Rust, C#, Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, production services, or enterprise software systems.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms; Azure experience preferred.
- Understanding of security, privacy, accessibility, compliance, reliability, and Responsible AI principles.
- Experience building or leading AI-powered solutions, production AI applications, LLM-enabled experiences, agentic workflows, intelligent automation, applied machine learning capabilities, or AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments, influence without authority, and align stakeholders around durable technical decisions.
- Communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear engineering, product, and business direction.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
