We have a hybrid work culture. 3 days a week working from the Hyderabad office during core working hours and 2 days working from home.

Job Description:

Nasuni is expanding its Platform development team with a Principal Software Engineer. This Principal Software Engineer should have strong Linux and CentOS experience. The ideal candidate will be looking to take ownership of the development of high availability as well as non-disruptive upgrade technologies. The candidate will be familiar with scaling distributed systems.

As the Principal Software Engineer, you will...

• Participate and lead requirements analysis, design, design reviews, and other work related to expanding Nasuni's Platform and Operating System.
• Develop and maintain software and services delivered to customers as part of our NAS appliance
• Develop and maintain High Availability and Upgrade solutions for the NAS appliance
• Debug and fix bugs reported by customers, support, QA, and development
• Work with customer support to address any escalations

Required skills and experience we look for are...

• 11+ years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems and/or cloud services
• Extensive experience developing code in C, C++.
• Strong knowledge of Linux clustering technologies (like, pacemaker, coro-sync, etc.)
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, both on-prem and cloud environment
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, I/O paths, Linux operating systems, XFS/EXT filesystems and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems and cloud services fundamentals
• Strong knowledge of working with hypervisor platforms like ESX, Hyper-V, OpenStack and KVM.
• Experience with working with technical partners to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs.
• Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to all audiences.
• Ability to drive projects and implementation details, including rapid development for proof-of-concept projects.
• Ability to mentor other engineers in the team in processes, technologies, and design methodologies.
• As a Principal Engineer at Nasuni you should have prior technical team leadership and mentoring experience

It’s an added bonus if you have...

• Computer Science degree or similar experience that includes System Design, Design Principals, Code Architecture.
• Our Cloud-Native Platform connects to enterprise applications and public storage via Software API's. Having prior API creation and utilization is essential.
• Experience with and contributions to open-source communities is a plus
• PostgreSQL is used as backbone to our system, prior Postgres is helpful.
• Exposure to Cloud Storage backend integration with AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
• Other high-level languages including Golang, Java, or Perl

Experience:

• BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech in computer science (or) Electronics and Communications (or) MCA
• 11 to 15 years’ previous experience in the industry in system/platform area.
