- Own major portions of the React Native app, building features that prioritize reliability, performance, and usability in real-world store environments.
- Collaborate across product, design, backend, QA, and support to turn real customer constraints into pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Lead technical decision-making on architecture, state management, data flow, observability, testing strategy, and mobile performance tuning.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality, contributing to code reviews, technical standards, and system design discussions.
- Continuously reduce friction and failure modes, improving crash-free sessions, offline behavior, and end-to-end system trust.
- Optimize print performance and label quality, ensuring fast print times, accurate rendering, and consistent output for retail-grade use cases.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience designing complex systems that take into account requirements for security, scalability, and reliability
- Strong system design instincts: you write maintainable, testable, and scalable code with clean boundaries and thoughtful state management.
- Strong servant-leadership skills to help mentor and raise the engineering bar
- Support mission critical applications through a high level of ownership, professionalism and discipline
- A product-oriented mindset—you care about making systems reliable, fast, and intuitive for operators in busy, real-world environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence architecture, roadmap decisions, and engineering standards across teams.
- Experience with AI optimized development workflows
- Native mobile experience (Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java), especially for Bluetooth, USB, background processing, or device services.
- Experience designing offline-first mobile systems, durable sync pipelines, or queue-based workflows.
- Experience with Node.js or backend services supporting mobile clients.
- Mobile CI/CD (Fastlane, Gitlab CI, automated releases, E2E testing).
