Builds Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular application components and module coding. Crafts and develops solutions using JavaScript. Builds, modernizes, and maintains Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Web applications. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Enforces best software practices and follows design patterns.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and User Experience (UX) Designers to recommend User Interface (UI) layout and design flow.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Web applications using Java and Angular.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Web applications using Java and Angular.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building and developing responsive Web applications using Angu-lar and TypeScript; implementing modular JavaScript concepts that enhance reusability of components; building products that are accurate with respect to their visual design and product specs; and conducting code reviews.
  • DE analyzing and reviewing requirements in implementing a rich user interface for the application; translating business requirements into tasks and assigning them to Sprint team members; participating in Sprint Planning or Sprint Reviews to size the tasks based on complexity; and coordinating with Scrum Master in organizing daily Sprints.
  • DE testing, debugging, and building codes that work across multiple browsers and digital platforms; writing efficient Unit Tests using JEST to test functional code; writing end-to-end tests to test all features of the application and testing the application on various browsers, device sizes, and in various environments against different sets of data.
  • DE supporting the application deployed in PROD environment; running tests against the Prod application and monitoring performance of the application; configuring applications using Bootstrap, deploying them using Jenkins, and testing its functionality using Karma; and working on state management using NgRx, fetching data from APIs using REST, and building the APIs using Java.
