As a Principal Software Engineer, you will set the technical direction for NVIDIA's global Developer Compute platform. The platform covers AI agent sandboxes and virtual desktop infrastructure. You will architect and build the services that provision, stream, secure, and operate cloud-hosted compute environments at global scale across AWS and Azure. These environments serve both AI agents and the people who work alongside them. You will partner with engineering, IT, and security leaders across NVIDIA to turn AI and end-user workflows into reliable, high-performance platform capabilities. This role is for a hands-on technical leader who wants to define how agents and people get compute at the frontier of AI!
What you will be doing:
- Leading contributions to the end-to-end architecture of NVIDIA's AI agent compute and virtual desktop platforms, from technical strategy and systems design through implementation, testing, and global deployment.
- Developing distributed compute services that provision and manage secure, isolated agent environments and virtual desktops across multiple clouds, availability zones, and regions.
- Driving the desktop streaming strategy, including protocol architecture, performance tuning, and end-user experience for both GPU-accelerated and general-purpose workloads.
- Collaborating with engineering, IT, and security leaders within NVIDIA to translate AI workflow and end-user compute requirements into a multi-year platform roadmap.
What we need to see:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience in software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, including architecting, developing, and deploying global cloud compute infrastructure.
- Deep, hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure compute, networking, identity, and storage services, such as EC2, VPC, Azure VMs, VNets, and Entra ID.
- Deep expertise in desktop streaming protocols such as Amazon DCV, PCoIP, or Omnissa Blast Extreme, including tuning for latency, bandwidth, and graphics performance.
- Experience designing and operating end-user computing solutions such as Amazon WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Citrix, or Omnissa Horizon.
- Experience with AI-native development and coding agents to multiply developer efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record to influence technical direction across teams and organizations.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience building platforms for AI agents, sandboxed execution, or computer-use agents that operate in full desktop environments.
- Experience with GPU virtualization, such as NVIDIA vGPU, and GPU-accelerated virtual workstations.
- A thorough understanding of zero-trust architecture, container and VM security, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Excited to contribute to a high-trust, collaborative culture while bringing a unique perspective to the team!

What We Do
NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, NVIDIA is increasingly known as “the AI computing company.”
