Position Overview

The role is with one of the Fusion teams in the Design and Manufacturing Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Pune-based scrum team and contribute to the development of AI/ML features in Fusion. 
 

Responsibilities 

  • Ship production-grade AI features according to XD designs. Ensure features meet quality, performance, and reliability standards across different OS platforms and cloud environments

  • Establish telemetry, observability, and monitoring for production AI services to ensure deep visibility into performance, errors, and costs through advanced logging and monitoring

  • Build and maintain high-availability cloud services that can handle fluctuating AI workloads without breaking the bank

  • Lead the implementation of security frameworks (SOC2, PRRAF, etc.) and ensure the cloud architecture meets rigorous compliance standards

  • Implement guardrails for data privacy, responsible AI practices, and ethical model usage

  • Establish engineering practices for AI and maintain a clean, performant codebase

  • Fully own the quality of work delivered, with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to excellence

  • Be proactive in writing technical design documents, participating in design and code reviews, estimating tasks, and documenting code

  • Work closely and iteratively with developers, the quality team, and user experience designers

  • Collaborate with an extended team of developers, the quality team, and product designers in India and other engineering sites worldwide

  • Be flexible and respond quickly to multiple priorities under changing conditions

  • Mentor and coach other team members

  • Passionate about customer success

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

  • 8+ years of industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial applications

  • Proficiency with AWS or Azure and cloud technologies such as SageMaker, Postman, Splunk, and Dynatrace, including managing complex, multi-service environments

  • Proven track record of taking AI/ML models out of "the lab" and into a live, scalable production environment

  • Deep familiarity with security domains and the audit process for SOC2 or similar frameworks. Know how to bake security into the code, not add it later

  • Experience with telemetry tools to monitor both system health and AI model drift

  • Pragmatic mindset: Understand the trade-offs between “perfect code” and “speed to market”

  • Tech lead experience in previous roles

  • Experience with building AI-powered workflows (prompt design, guardrails, evaluation) and integrating AI into complex desktop/cloud products

  • Experience with system-level thinking and architecture design
     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in CAD software development

  • Experience with Agile software development practices
