We're looking for an experienced Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Software Development, you'll be responsible for:
- You will participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test.
- You Will Develop functional specifications, assess task requirements and scheduling, and participate in the development, debug, and support.
- You will be working on design and code components of a large-scale distributed system with a keen sense for scalability and performance, troubleshoot issues with a hawkish acumen, work with Operations and Support (when needed) to help keep a healthy cloud and happy customer
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must have 12+ years of experience of software development experience with at least 5 + years of experience in C development and Linux/Unix
- Experience with distributed systems, High-performance Computing, Event-based programming, Multi-threading, Memory optimization and Fault Tolerance
- Must be proficient in API Development, writing Proxy Applications ( Apache, Nginx) and experience handling uploads and downloads at scale with speed
- Experience in design/code reviews and preferably in writing automatable unit and integration tests
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge of VPN, Load balancers, IPS/IDS, Routers and Firewall
- Experience in Datapath Networking
- Familiarity with frameworks like DPDK or VPP
