Team Description
Our team is looking for a Principal - Sales Engineer who will report to the Director, Sales Engineering - Retailing. This role will be responsible for supporting pre-sales activities related to Sabre's airline portfolio, including Offer Management, Order Management, Dynamic Pricing, Ancillary Retailing, and broader airline modernization initiatives such as transition to Offer-Order-Settle-Deliver. The individual will partner closely with sales, account management, product management, and delivery teams to support strategic pursuits globally. The role will lead discovery workshops, solution design, RFP responses, demonstrations, business value articulation, and executive presentations. The position will also help shape go-to-market strategies and support major airline transformation programs.
The role requires balancing multiple opportunities concurrently, often with competing deadlines and frequent collaboration across global time zones. Travel requirements can exceed 50% during peak customer engagement periods.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership throughout the sales pursuit, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Customer Engagement: Serve as a trusted technical advisor during the sales cycle, working closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and architect effective solutions.
Sales to Delivery Hand-off: Work with key stakeholders to ensure a successful transition from pre-sales to delivery, ensuring smooth kickoff of the implementation phase.
Product Alignment: Partner with product management to ensure sales engineers have a deep understanding of our offerings and can effectively communicate the value proposition to customers.
Metrics & Analysis: Track key sales engineering metrics, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize performance within the Americas.
A Successful Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressively senior leadership.
- Hands on experience in Pricing & Revenue Management and related areas. Experience in using either Sabre or competitor solutions in the area
- Extensive understanding of the market landscape in Aviation, including knowledge of the competitive landscape in Airline IT, key trends, opportunities, and challenges of modern retailing.
- Proven experience of pre-sale engagements at the C-level.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams within a global matrix organization, with strong capabilities to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional presence and business acumen with articulate and persuasive oral and written communication skills.
- Operates with extensive latitude and being resourceful to overcome challenges and to accomplish goals
