The Principal Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering a safe and healthy workplace by providing guidance, training, and resources that support proactive safety practices and employee well-being. This position serves as the on-site safety leader, actively engaging employees at all levels to promote a strong safety culture.
The Principal Safety Coordinator is expected to be a visible, hands-on leader, reinforcing safety and operational excellence while empowering employees to take ownership of their health and safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Delivering safety training for new hire orientation, equipment certifications, etc.
Leading incident investigations and driving corrective actions.
Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Supporting project implementation and monitoring compliance with safety standards.
Developing, analyzing, and reporting safety performance metrics.
Recordkeeping & retention for safety training.
Inspecting and auditing food safety programs and processes.
Partnering with operations & cross-functional teams to execute company EHS policies and initiatives.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years’ experience in safety-related duties in manufacturing or warehousing.
Preferred:
Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 2 years’ experience in environmental, health, and safety in manufacturing, warehousing, etc.
Subject matter expert in environmental regulations
Certified trainer for powered industrial trucks
Possess safety certifications (ASP, CSP, etc.)
Excellent written/verbal communication skills – interfacing with all departmental leaders
Excellent administrative skills – presentations, trend graphing
Strong problem-solving skills – lean principles
Have a positive attitude and solution-seeker for all opportunities
Passion for risk mitigation and positive safety culture

Compensation Range
$17.22 - $27.28The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location.
