We have an opportunity for a Principal Project Engineer to join us at Honeywell Aerospace in Brno. As a member of the Services & Connectivity Recorders organization, you will be part of the team which has full design authority over Recorders product line and is responsible for end-to-end product life cycle development. From the initial concept definition based on customer and industry/regulatory requirements, program planning and execution, through certification and manufacturing to successful product entry into service, you will have direct impact on Honeywell Aerospace NPI revenues.

You will be responsible for new product development, allowing you to specialize in an exciting niche within the aerospace engineering field and build up unique subject domain expertise. 

You will play a critical role in product development planning, design goals and objectives, and drive the overall program performance.  You will be the planning and execution leader for Recorders NPI and be the primary owner of program cost, schedule and technical and tactical execution. You will work closely with large cross-functional team and different stakeholders consisting of GBE, PMO, Sales, Strategic sourcing, suppliers, manufacturing and customers. Your experience in product development and project engineering will be instrumental in shaping the success of Honeywell Aerospace NPI’s.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and own $13M NPI development program.
  • Manage projects using project management tools (MS Project, Accolade, SAP, etc.)
  • Be advocate and executor of Digital Transformation 
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, define project schedules, milestones, budget 
  • Own project execution and track against schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Identify risks and issues, be responsible for proactive mitigation
  • Communicate issues with stakeholders and actively contribute to their timely resolution
  • Work closely with strategic sourcing and manage suppliers
  • Be accountable for manufacturing readiness and manufacturing coordination 
  • Regular reporting to senior leadership/executive level
  • Track and report project KPIs. Own the overall programme deliverables, ensuring successful outcomes across all contributing functions.
  • Support S&C organization in productivity, execution excellence and innovation initiatives
  • Mentor and coach project engineers/managers across Services & Connectivity organisation 
  • Drive cross-functional execution, remove blockers and ensure commitments are met.
  • Own and manage cross-functional dependencies, ensuring issues are resolved regardless of functional boundaries.
Qualifications
  • University Degree
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and clearly communicate with diverse stakeholders across the organisation
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with managing R&D projects, proven track record for end-to-end product development 
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and standards
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Atlassian toolchain, or similar) and methodologies, PMP, SAFE certification is advantageous.
  • Proven track record for engineering transformation projects.
  • Business acumen and understanding business objectives.
  • Experience working with demanding customers and managing suppliers.
  • Enjoy working with data, analyses, and ability to present ideas/plans in a clear way.
  • Executive level communication in English, excellent mentorship skills
