As a Principal AI Product Owner at Micron Technology, Inc., you will report to the Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence organization within FE Procurement. The team defines, drives, and delivers end-to-end AI and agentic solutions across procurement and adjacent functions. You will own the AI product vision, strategy, and roadmap, applying industry-leading methodologies in data science, automation, AI, and agentic systems to enhance Micron's procurement, planning, and business processes.
In this role, you will work with an internal team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers and engage functional executives, leaders, and external partners in the design, analysis, and implementation of AI solutions. You will be accountable for the full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery, adoption, and realized impact, and will have the opportunity to build deep data fluency across procurement workflows. Most importantly, you will work closely with key stakeholders across FE Procurement to ensure positive impact and sustainable results from the Smart Manufacturing and AI solutions.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Own the AI product vision and roadmap across FE Procurement, Planning, and related functions; define outcomes, set priorities, and align the portfolio to business strategy.
- Work with users to capture and analyze information related to the adoption of AI and agentic applications for procurement through stakeholder engagement.
- Manage the product backlog end to end: refine requirements, write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritize using value-versus-effort and strategic-fit frameworks.
- Lead product discovery: define user personas, map procurement workflows and pain points, and validate use cases before committing to build.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to design, execute, and deliver projects that require the coordination, support, and management of resources from global teams.
- Assess data readiness for every use case: evaluate data availability, quality, lineage, and governance, and define the data requirements that solutions depend on.
- Develop an understanding of data science and agentic systems and use these skills to execute and steer solutions from POC through scaled production.
- Partner with procurement, planning, and functional organizations to identify and prioritize opportunities that improve cost efficiency, productivity, and capital efficiency.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional and data requirements, user stories, and implementation plans.
- Define solution scope, business requirements, success criteria, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead cross-functional projects from problem definition through solution deployment, business adoption, and value realization.
- Analyze operational and business processes to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous optimization.
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and agentic tools to improve decision making, automate workflows, and accelerate solution delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of work experience in semiconductor manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, management consulting or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning the full product lifecycle for data-driven, AI, or agentic products, from discovery through adoption.
- Strong data fluency: able to reason about data models, data quality, pipelines, and analytics, and to work directly with data engineering and data science teams to define requirements.
- Superb interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to effectively lead and present to small and large groups. Work multi-functionally with peers and senior and mid-level management.
- Peer leadership and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
