Bing Multimedia is building the next generation of AI powered image, video, and multimodal search experiences used by millions of customers worldwide. As search evolves into an AI first, multimodal experience, we’re redefining how people discover, understand, and create with visual content across Bing, Edge, Windows, and Copilot. 

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to define and build the next generation of these experiences. This is a high impact role for a proven product leader who thrives in fastmoving environments and has a track record of shipping innovative products that drive meaningful customer and business outcomes. 

You will identify and shape highvalue opportunities at the intersection of AI, search, and media, turning emerging technologies into differentiated, consumer experiences. 

The ideal candidate brings strong product judgment, deep understanding of competitive market dynamics, and experience building both new (0→1) and scaled (1→N) products in highly competitive spaces. You care deeply about product craft and customer experience, and you know how to build products that feel intuitive, useful, and differentiated. 

You bring strong product instinct and use data and experimentation to pressuretest decisions and improve outcomes. You’re comfortable operating in ambiguous problem spaces, bringing clarity, setting direction, and influencing across teams and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AIpowered multimedia experiences across image, video, and multimodal search, balancing near term execution with north star vision. 

  • Identify, frame, and size high impact opportunities using customer insight, product data, competitive dynamics, and emerging AI capabilities 

  • Drive end to end product development from early concept and rapid prototyping (0→1) through launch, iteration, and scaled adoption (1→N) 

  • Translate advances in AI and machine learning into meaningful, high quality customer facing product experiences 

  • Operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces, defining problems, setting direction, and creating clarity across teams 

  • Design and lead rigorous experimentation (A/B testing, flighting), defining hypotheses and success metrics and using results to guide decisions 

  • Use product telemetry and data analysis to understand user behavior, diagnose issues, and identify opportunities to improve engagement, quality, and retention 

  • Partner deeply with engineering, design, data science, and research teams to deliver intuitive, highquality user experiences 

  • Drive alignment across senior stakeholders and partner teams, influencing without authority to resolve ambiguity and deliver outcomes across complex dependencies 

  • Present product strategy, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, shaping product direction and investment decisions 

  • Champion product quality and craft, ensuring experiences are intuitive, engaging, and differentiated for customers. 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development 

  • OR equivalent experience. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 12+ years of experience in product management, software development, data science, or related technical fields 

  • Proven track record building and launching innovative products from concept (0→1) through iteration and scaled adoption (1→N) 

  • Experience defining product strategy and roadmaps in competitive consumer, search, media, or AIdriven product spaces 

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML systems, with experience translating emerging capabilities into customerfacing product experiences 

  • Experience operating in ambiguous, fastmoving environments and driving clarity, prioritization, and execution across teams 

  • Experience designing and running experiments (A/B testing, flighting) and using product data and telemetry to drive measurable impact 

  • Strong analytical skills; experience working with data tools (e.g., SQL, KQL, Python, experimentation platforms, dashboards) to understand user behavior and identify opportunities 

  • Experience partnering with engineering, data science, and design teams to deliver highquality, endtoend user experiences 

  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across teams without direct authority 

  • Strong product judgment and passion for product craft, with a focus on building intuitive, differentiated, highquality customer experiences 

  • Experience working on AIfirst or multimodal products (e.g., search, generative AI, media, developer platforms) is a plus 


Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

  • 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (design, PMF, launch, internal tools/frameworks)
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience (growing usage, retention, reducing churn)
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (competitive disruption, replacing established products)
