Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description
The Global Streaming Platform powers the best entertainment experiences from Peacock, NOW/WOW, SkyShowtime, and Showmax. The Global Streaming Platform organization is looking for a Principal Product Manager, Sports to join the Engagement Product team. You will be responsible for creating a product vision for how Peacock, NOW/WOW, SkyShowtime, and Showmax engage sports fans in the future by leveraging new technologies for emerging user needs. This role will focus on building usable, scalable, and delightful experiences around sports and live events more broadly as a vertical. This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and ambitious initiative focused on creating the next generation of products for Sports fans.
In this role, you will:

  • Lead product strategy, roadmap and KPIs for sports and live events for connected TV, mobile and web applications
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, engineering and design teams to create the best real-time content experiences and scalable workflows
  • Deeply understand business considerations, competitive landscape, and best practices to drive optimal sports and live product experiences
  • Lead feature development through the full software lifecycle, including discovery, ideation, requirements, design, build, release, testing, evaluation and iteration
  • Create and deliver winning executive presentations that explain product vision, features and roadmaps and manage senior stakeholder expectations
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform feature prioritization, definition and longer-term product strategies
  • Create balanced, performant experiences that satisfy superfans without alienating casual consumers of sports and news


Qualifications

  • Proven track record of working on and developing innovative consumer-facing sports products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports including both US (NFL, NBA, WWE) and International (e.g. Premier League)
  • Vision to anticipate evolving consumption trends around sports and live event consumption
  • Experience leading end-to-end product development processes, from concept through retrospective, for both consumer-facing and back-end features
  • A strong ability to lead and inspire alignment to a shared vision and outcome
  • Empathy for the user and a curiosity for identifying their needs
  • Distinguished verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in A|B testing, data analysis and analytical thinking
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Technical fluency to know when to challenge developers and ask pertinent questions
  • The product sense to thoughtfully balance beautiful design, usability and business outcomes
  • Collaborative spirit and a willingness to share product responsibilities and occasionally lead work streams outside of live event innovation space
  • Enthusiasm to be positive, confident and energetic


Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in a relevant field

  • 7+ years working in a Product Management (or relevant) role, preferably in consumer-facing media, and a track record of delivering excellent products at scale with measurable success
  • Familiarity with real-time content delivery and/or live/sports streaming experiences preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis validation and user testing
  • Experience with multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Amazon, Roku) and domains (TV, Movies, Sports, News)
  • Fluency with project management tools such as Jira, Asana and Trello as well as analytics software
  • Ability and self-motivation to work effectively offsite and with remote, global, multi-lingual teams


This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
