We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.
The Core Experience team builds the foundations that make Spotify feel connected, intuitive, and consistent wherever people listen. From Playlists to shared product capabilities, we help teams across Spotify create experiences that millions of listeners use every day.
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to shape the future of these platforms. You'll set product direction, bring teams together around shared priorities, and help create the capabilities that make great listening experiences possible at scale. What You’ll Do
- Partner with engineering leaders to explore technical solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and guide decisions that improve product performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop shared platform capabilities that help teams build consistent, high-quality experiences across Spotify.
- Improve the adoption and long-term value of platform capabilities by gathering feedback, measuring outcomes, and supporting teams that use them.
- Balance new product opportunities with technical improvements, including system performance, quality, simplification, and platform migrations.
- Use experimentation, prototypes, technical exploration, and feedback to test ideas, learn quickly, and adapt your approach.
- Build alignment across teams by communicating priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs clearly, helping partners work toward shared outcomes.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of product management experience, including experience building or improving technical platforms, shared systems, or capabilities that support consumer products.
- You understand client and backend technologies and can work with engineers to connect technical decisions to user needs and business outcomes.
- You're familiar with mobile development for iOS or Android, including areas such as app performance, reliability, user interface architecture, or design systems.
- You have experience guiding products or platforms beyond launch, improving adoption, managing technical debt, and supporting systems as needs evolve.
- You can evaluate technical trade-offs and make thoughtful decisions about when to improve existing systems, simplify solutions, or invest in new capabilities.
- You use data, research, experimentation, and sound judgment to make product decisions, including when traditional A/B testing isn't the right approach.
- You communicate complex ideas clearly, welcome different perspectives, and build strong relationships across engineering, design, and data teams.
- You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, taking ownership of complex challenges, and adapting your approach as you learn.
Where You’ll Be
