As a Principal Product Manager on the Azure Storage team, you will define the product strategy and roadmap for how we drive down the total cost of storage and unlock new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven storage experiences across Azure Blob, Files, and Elastic SAN. This opportunity will allow you to shape one of Azure's highest-leverage bets, partner directly with first-party teams (Cosmos DB, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Microsoft AI) and large enterprise customers, and hone deep technical product craft at the intersection of distributed storage systems and AI.

Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Azure Storage team's efficiency and AI initiatives, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI)-informed analysis to anticipate customer needs and prioritize investments that lower total cost of storage across Azure Blob, Files, and Elastic SAN
- Act as subject matter expert on storage efficiency and AI-driven storage scenarios; lead partnerships and negotiations with first-party partners (e.g., Cosmos DB, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Microsoft AI) and strategic enterprise customers to drive adoption
- Translate complex distributed systems and AI concepts into business value for executives, engineering leadership, and customers; build consensus around an AI-first storage product strategy
- Partner with Software Engineering (SWE), Hardware Engineering (HWE), and Applied Sciences teams to define feature sets, roadmap tradeoffs, and AI-based systems and frameworks that scale storage economics and performance across divisional boundaries
- Drive go-to-market strategy from private preview to general availability with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and field teams; evangelize storage efficiency and AI-driven storage innovations at Executive Briefing Centers (EBCs) and industry events
- Define and instrument success metrics — Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), adoption, retention, and AI model quality — and derive insights from telemetry and customer engagements to drive prioritization
- Lead customer engagement programs and executive conversations for the largest Azure storage consumers; incorporate security, privacy, compliance, and Responsible AI factors into every phase of product design and lifecycle

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
