About the role

We are looking for a Principal Product Engineer to act as the key engineering interface for securing product requirements in New Product Introduction (NPI) and industrialization projects across internal and external manufacturing sites.

In this role, you will ensure that products meet Nexperia’s requirements for quality, cost, and delivery performance throughout the full product lifecycle—from design and validation through to manufacturing release and volume production.

You will work across all technical aspects of a product, including datasheet definition, validation and qualification, packaging and manufacturing, test development (including custom test solutions), marking, shipping, and analysis of failures and field returns.

What you will do
  • Act as the main technical interface for product engineering topics across NPI and industrialization projects.
  • Define validation scope, required engineering hours, and cost estimates for product qualification activities.
  • Review device specifications and ensure alignment with product and system requirements.
  • Participate in risk assessments (FMEA) and support mitigation actions.
  • Execute assigned tasks according to project plans and proactively identify solutions to keep schedules on track.
  • Initiate and support peer reviews and gate reviews for all Product Engineering deliverables.
  • Report technical status, risks, and progress to project leadership and resource management.
  • Own product validation, characterization, and drift analysis, ensuring completeness, correctness, and technical integrity.
  • Prepare and deliver product validation reports with clear conclusions and supporting technical evidence.
  • Ensure proper archiving of characterization and test data, as well as all relevant technical documentation.
  • Support and guide product qualification activities through all project phases.
  • Own the technical content and quality of product release decisions, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Provide technical solutions to product-related issues and support cross-functional problem-solving activities (e.g. 8D).
  • Drive continuous improvement in validation efficiency, characterization methods, and product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, packaging, test, manufacturing, project management, quality, and customer-facing organizations to ensure alignment across all product engineering activities.

What you will need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor design, manufacturing, OEM environments, or technical research.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor products and/or electronic circuit design principles.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, project-driven environments, with the ability to contribute to or support technical project management activities.
  • Experience with quality and problem-solving methodologies, including 8D and FMEA.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. Yellow Belt or equivalent).
  • Experience working in global, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to work in complex, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary environments.
