The Role

We’re seeking a Principal Product Engineer — a hands-on, full-spectrum builder who thrives at the intersection of product, AI, and engineering. You’ll own end-to-end delivery of impactful features and systems—from concept to production. You’ll deeply understand user needs, design solutions that move key business outcomes, and build them fast using modern tools and AI-assisted workflows.

This is a role for creative problem-solvers who can move fluidly between frontend, backend, data, and AI—someone who can build, ship, and scale products with minimal oversight, and lead by example when teams form around their work.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with founders and product leaders to define high-impact opportunities and turn them into working software fast.
  • Architect, design, and deliver full products and subsystems end-to-end across frontend (React/Next.js), backend (Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL), and AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway).
  • Use AI tools and automation creatively to accelerate development and innovation.
  • Own product outcomes—balance technical excellence with user experience and business impact.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly, pushing new ideas from zero to one.
  • Lead by example: mentor, code-review, and guide other engineers as the team scales.
  • Drive best practices in system design, performance, and reliability.

Who You Are

  • 8–15 years of professional engineering experience, ideally across full-stack and data/AI systems.
  • Proven record of independently delivering high-impact, user-facing products or 0 to 1 systems.
  • Expert in Python, AWS, and modern web frameworks (React, Next.js).
  • Deep understanding of data workflows (PostgreSQL, ETL, APIs) and how systems connect.
  • Product-oriented mindset—you care about user experience, business outcomes, and speed to value.
  • Comfortable moving from architecture to hands-on implementation.
  • Creative, scrappy, and curious—you use AI and modern tools to move faster and smarter.
  • Thrive in ambiguity; you can identify problems, design solutions, and execute without heavy process.
  • Based in Los Angeles or open to relocation. (Fully on-site role at our West Hollywood office.)
