THE ROLE & THE TEAM
Data is a critical part of our product development process and we are the chief advocates for its quality and usage. We are looking for a Principal Product Analyst (f/m/d) who can quickly jump in, understand, evaluate, recommend, and make an impact on the digital experiences on Zalando for customers.
You will be working in an exciting team focused on delivering a tailored discovery experience to our customers via great personalization, recommendation, browse and search experiences. Working closely with teams of Product Managers, Software Engineers, Applied Scientists, and Business Leaders, you will be leading data-explorations, A/B tests, hypothesis analysis, and other statistical approaches focused on understanding the products and the customers, as well as the continuous reporting and monitoring of critical business KPIs.
In addition, you will benefit from a network of Product Analysts, who share similar challenges across the company, to learn and develop your skills.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Create a strategy, align with key partners, generate insights, deliver analysis, and deliver ongoing improvements independently for an ambiguous problem.

  • Develop in-depth analytical (user) understanding of what drives growth for the product and how it can be improved.

  • Be a data explorer, an educator, and a partner in decision making.

  • Challenge and contribute to product decisions based on your insights

  • Give (analytical) evidence supporting business decisions - investments, roll-out, and/or additional deep-dives.

  • Define the key performance metrics for the teams to judge and monitor product performance.

  • Advise in the set-up of A/B Tests or other quasi-experiments for new features and business opportunities, analysing, and deep-diving into the results to give recommendations.

  • Serve as an interface between data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, communication, and understanding of data products and analyses.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have 5+ years of relevant working experience in a data-intensive analytics role where you learned how to work with raw data, such as in Digital Analytics, Product Analytics, or Business Intelligence, preferably in e-commerce.

  • You have a strong knowledge of e-commerce KPIs and how they can be defined.

  • You have a strong knowledge of SQL, and you are comfortable working with nested/repeated data.

  • Strong knowledge of advanced analytics and statistical software languages (preferably Python), particularly regarding data clean up and manipulation. Familiarity with statistical models and prediction is a plus.

  • You have a strong knowledge of A/B testing best practices and/or quasi-experimental analysis methodologies.

  • You are very comfortable working with onsite user behaviour data, from defining tracking specifications that capture relevant user actions to generating insights from the data (for example using Google Analytics or a similar service).

  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to explain processes, choices, and insights to stakeholders across all levels of seniority and technical background.
