Principal Process Engineer

KBR ISA (Integrated Solutions Americas) delivers integrated, end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction management services to the refining, LNG, midstream, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, power, and industrial infrastructure sectors. Our focus spans proprietary technology, consulting, and energy transition to complete delivery of major capital projects and programs.

KBR is looking for a Principal Process Engineer to help support large capital projects.

Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of process engineering. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or show leadership capabilities managing areas or systems within projects. 

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading a team of process engineers to work with process licensors and to advance a licensor basic engineering package to FEED quality

  • Experience executing a licensor package for downstream steam cracker derivatives aromatics units.

  • Experience creating process simulations and Heat and Material Balances.

  • PFD development

  • Working and coordinating with high value engineering centers

  • Familiarity with and able to execute or lead a team of process engineers for

    • P&ID development

    • Hydraulics calculations

    • Process vessel sizing

    • Overpressure analysis and relief calculations including flare load estimation and flare header sizing

  • Production of process design basis documents and various narratives

  • Managing workgroup schedules, budgets and progress

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering Required, master’s degree in chemical engineering preferred

  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience and an average of 10 to 20 experience

  • Knowledge of Aspen software suites.
