Principal Process EngineerPosition Description
Responsible for the study, design, and specification of equipment, piping and instrumentation related to processing plants such as oil and gas production, organic chemicals and refined products. Projects within SKLLC vary from small studies through to large EPC projects.
The position is based at SKLLC office, Crescent Business Centre, 26th floor.
Job Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team under the supervision of the lead engineer you will be expected to contribute to and assist in the production of the following:
- Development of process simulations to produce heat and material balances,
- development of process and utility flow diagrams,
- development of piping and instrument diagrams,
- producing calculations for the design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and to develop system design parameters.
- preparing process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing
- specifying piping and instrument data to support downstream disciplines
- developing concepts from client specifications
- supporting and producing technical and techno-economic studies
- leading a team either within a large project or for smaller projects
- May also be responsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimization
Skills / Experience:
Essential
- Experience leading a team of up to 10 process engineers.
- Understanding of requirements of other disciplines as part of project execution.
- Clear understanding of complex equipment sizing calculations and have experience specifying equipment
- Understanding of complex relief valve sizing cases and preparation of calculations
- Experience of vessel and exchanger specification and sizing
- Experience taking a leading role in a safety review (HazOp/SIL/LOPA)
- Experience of developing hydraulic calculations for complex circuits
- Experience within working in a multi-discipline team and across different offices.
- Understanding of process control and development of cause and effect diagrams
- Experience of writing technical reports.
- Self-motivated and a good communication skills to enable effective team working.
- Flexibility to work across a number of different technologies.
- Understanding of workhour control and working to schedule and within budget.
- Good organizational skills
- Good understanding of quality requirements.
Desirable
- Ability to build simulation models in Hysys/Promax or similar simulation tool for complex simulations
