Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with ACI platform customers to understand/influence business requirements
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to solutions
- Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture/engineering reviews)
- Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
- Review work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
- Ensure network connectivity meets customer expectations
- Collaborate with other network engineers to support Optum's datacenter core networking
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
The complexity of this role can be challenging. You'll be working on strategic programs with responsibility for providing engineering and/or architectural leadership to key initiatives across the organization. You'll be expected to ensure that the programs align to the IT strategy, leverage enterprise components and capabilities, advance the state of our IT assets, and expand and improve on our enterprise engineering strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in Network and/or Security roles
- 3+ years in a engineering and/or architecture role
- 1+ years experience with Cisco ACI in an operational, support, or engineering role
- Knowledge of advanced networking concepts and products
- Knowledge of advanced security concepts and products
- Knowledge of software engineering / automation tools and practices; DevOps and DevSecOps principles
- Ability to work with a geographically disperse team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco networking certifications
- 3+ years experience designing network connectivity with Cisco ACI
- Python (or similar) coding experience
