The role is responsible for driving the integration strategy, architecture standards, modernization roadmaps, and future-state technology direction supporting cloud, data, digital, and AI platforms. As a senior individual contributor, this position serves as the enterprise integration authority for ETL, file transfer, API, event-driven, middleware, and orchestration capabilities. The architect partners across business, engineering, infrastructure, security, data, and enterprise architecture teams to simplify technology landscapes, reduce technical debt, accelerate cloud adoption, and establish reusable integration capabilities that improve agility and business outcomes. The role also leads technology evaluations, architecture assessments, and modernization initiatives supporting long-term organizational objectives, including cloud transformation, AI enablement, platform rationalization, and enterprise resiliency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform highly complex architecture, strategy, and technology leadership assignments.

  • Define and maintain enterprise integration architecture strategy, target-state architecture, and multi-year modernization roadmaps.

  • Develop and promote enterprise integration principles, standards, reference architectures, and best practices.

  • Lead architecture assessments, proof-of-concepts, technology evaluations, and strategic recommendations.

  • Drive modernization initiatives involving ETL, file transfer, API-led connectivity, event-driven architectures, cloud-native integration, and AI-enabled workflows.

  • Partner with application, data, cloud, infrastructure, platform, and security teams to align technology roadmaps and investment decisions.

  • Develop future-state integration patterns supporting AWS, Snowflake, Fabric, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled business capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, simplify technology platforms, improve resiliency, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Implement governance processes, technology standards, and architectural guardrails ensuring consistency across portfolios.

  • Serve as an escalation resource and strategic advisor during major incidents, platform transformations, and critical architecture reviews.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solution designs align with architectural objectives, enterprise standards, and modernization strategies.

  • Lead vendor evaluations, industry research, market analysis, and strategic technology partnerships.

  • Mentor solution architects and engineers through technical leadership, architecture reviews, and knowledge sharing.

  • Create, maintain, and communicate architecture artifacts, reference models, standards, and roadmaps.

  • Participate in the continual refinement of architecture processes, governance practices, and technology lifecycle management.

  • Continuously develop specialized knowledge and subject matter expertise by remaining current on industry trends, emerging technologies, cloud platforms, integration patterns, and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 12+ years of technology experience with 8+ years in architecture, integration, or platform strategy roles.

  • Demonstrated experience defining enterprise technology strategy, architecture roadmaps, and modernization programs.

  • Strong expertise in enterprise integration architecture, ETL/ELT, middleware, API management, event-driven architecture, managed file transfer, and orchestration technologies.

  • Experience leading large-scale technology transformation and modernization initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate and influence technical and business stakeholders across all organizational levels.

  • Strong thought leadership capabilities with the ability to build consensus and drive organizational alignment.

  • Ability to mentor and guide architects, engineers, and technology teams through influence rather than direct authority.

  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and translating technical capabilities into business value.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS cloud architecture and integration services.

  • Snowflake platform architecture and data integration patterns.

  • Informatica IDMC and PowerCenter modernization experience.

  • Managed File Transfer (MFT) modernization and strategy experience.

  • IBM DataPower, IBM ACE, IBM MQ, CDC, and messaging technologies.

  • API-led connectivity, event streaming, and microservices architecture.

  • Data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality capabilities.

  • AI-enabled software development, intelligent automation, and modern engineering practices.

  • Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent).

  • Financial Services industry experience.

  • Cloud migration and technology rationalization experience.

  • Architecture governance, reference architecture development, and enterprise standards management.
